The latest grass growth rate and quality data from six sites across Northern Ireland. Given the success of the ‘Grazing Management Focus’ that revolved around the six GrassCheck farms in 2010, this feature is being extended in 2011. This will feature a wider range of farms throughout Northern Ireland and will again focus on current cow performance, grass supply as demonstrated through the ‘grass wedge’ and current grassland management issues, as well as encouraging improved feed efficiency through better management of grass.

The latest grass growth rate and quality data from six sites across Northern Ireland. Given the success of the ‘GrassCheck at Greenmount’ feature that appeared alongside the GrassCheck bulletin in the early half of 2009, this feature is being extended in 2010. The ‘Grazing Management Focus’ will feature one of the six GrassCheck farms each week covering details on grass supply, quality, current cow performance and grassland management issues, the aim of which is to encourage better feed efficiency through better management of grass, drawing on the experience of the farmers involved in the GrassCheck project.

The latest grass growth rate and quality data from six sites across Northern Ireland. In 2009 the weekly GrassCheck bulletin will will include a GrassCheck at Greenmount supplement designed to encourage better feed efficiency and through better management of grass, drawing on the experience of the 150 cow Future Herd at Greenmount.
