NEW GROWERS BLOOM AT GREENMOUNT

David Davidson, Cut Flower Development Adviser, Greenmount Campus, CAFRE

A large turnout of people interested in cut flowers and foliage attended a workshop organised by CAFRE recently which focused on practical demonstrations and presentations on the production and marketing of cut flowers and foliage
The workshop gave those who attended the opportunity to learn about the cut flower market and to view the cut flower technology projects at Greenmount Campus. People attending gained an understanding of the production and marketing of popular locally produced cut flowers such as Peonies, Sweet William, Stocks and Bloom Chrysanthemums.
This was the first in a series of workshops designed for those wishing to learn about the production and marketing of cut flowers and foliage. Further workshops are being organised for August and October this year. If you wish to receive more details checkout the cut flower and foliage web pages on the DARD Rural Portal.
