Dairy Farmers Focus on Grass and Labour Efficiency
Farmers from the Millennium Dairy Discussion Group based in Shropshire and mid Wales who visited Greenmount Campus, CAFRE last week. During their three day visit to Northern Ireland focussing on labour efficiency and producing more milk from grass the group also visited the herd of Brian McCracken (Newtownards), Roy Harpur and his sons David and Robert (Bessbrook) and AFBI Hillsborough. They also met a number of others in the Northern Ireland agri-food industry. Included in the photograph are Richard Davies (Welsh Extension Officer, DairyCo) and David Mackey (Dairying Technologist, Greenmount Campus).
