CAFRE Rural Enterprise Lecturer Joe Mulholland with Lucy Kerr of Mill Yard Equestrian Centre Annahilt, Hillsborough. Lucy participated on the Diversification Challenge programmes before starting her business and commented recently “The Diversification Challenge - Business Planning programme gave me the confidence to proceed with plans to start my new equestrian business at Annahilt.”
The Diversification Challenge - Business Planning programme consists of:
  • Six group workshops which help you to plan and provide the opportunity to network and learn from others.
  • Up to 10 hours of one-to-one professional mentoring support from rural Enterprise advisers who help you to plan and implement change.
  • Visits to successful diversified businesses to draw on other peoples experiences.
  • An opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
Diversification Challenge Business Planning workshop topics cover:
  • Market Research;
  • Resources;
  • Leglislation;
  • Pricing your product or service;
  • Constructing financial projections;
  • Marketing and selling your product or service;
  • Compilation of a business plan.
Who should attend?
Any farmer or farm family member who is interested in investigating and/or starting a new diversification business.
Where and When?
The programme is running at three venues in Armagh, Ballynahinch and Cloughmills from April – July 2009.
Places are limited therefore early application is advisable.
